Where Land Meets Sky: Geophonic Transmissions for the Body

long before there was the word, there were the sounds of the earth. from the distant thunder to the cresting wave, the elemental forces of nature shaped the land and in turn, these sounds etched themselves deep into our bodies and our psyches.

the geophonic sounds of the natural world, such as thunder, rain, and wind, are guiding forces that surround us each day, cuing our bodies into the seasons and rhythms of our dynamic planet. however, these sounds have been slowly masked by the pervasive impact of humxn presence. yet, we still call upon these elemental sounds for healing and peace. we play the rain to fall asleep. we listen to the ocean to relax. we even conjure the crackling fire, as we snuggle close with our loved ones.

in essence, the body remembers the elements. in its deepest memories, the body holds the water, the stone, the wind, and the fire. so that these elements are not distant forces, too large for comprehension, but grounding energies that are alive within us and around us.

in this 4-part community listening series, participants will be guided through an immersive somatic-sound journey of each element, uncovering the deep connection between body and earth, and how geophony shapes our inner and outer worlds.

◽️what is the value of ritual in this moment of environmental crisis? does it become more or less important?

Winter Solstice Sound Ritual

when all is quiet, what can be heard? when we surrender our voices for silence, what emerges?

About this Event

like a familiar song that beckons us home, winter invites us to turn inward. to honor the balance of life and death through listening and stillness.

in this final sound ritual of the SACRED SEASONS project, we explore the song of silence, by surrendering to the earth and letting the stillness of the winter guide us back to ourselves.

join sound ritualist zaneta for an evening of ritual magic and sonic scenery, listening to the ancient earth singing through snow, wind, and ice. participants will receive a seasonal ritual guide to work with throughout the season.

ritual soundscapes, singing, intentional listening techniques, meditation, seasonal reflections, and magic are all woven together to help us reconnect to the special energy of the winter solstice.

for those unfamiliar with this project, this is a blend of sound art, spiritual ecology, and community ritual, and will be conducted on Youtube Livestream.

Inner Journeys: Sound Meditations for Collective Grief + Healing

With the end of summer approaching, now is the perfect time to reconnect with self.

About this Event

In the wake of the pandemic, the sudden shift to quarantine left so many of us scrambling to navigate our circumstances. From job security to caring for our loved ones to our health, there’s very little room to breathe, let alone time and space to honor the feelings and experiences we lived through.

To honor the experiences and emotions of the last six months, and gently release accumulated energies, Inner Journeys offers this sacred space to breathe, reflect, and release through channeled sound meditations and community connection. Over the course of three sessions, we will reconnect to self and explore the myriad of experiences and emotions that arose during the quarantine.

Each week we will focus on specific themes, such as lonelinessgrief, and surrender. Where gentle and affirming space will be held to share and reflect upon these themes as a group. Afterward, participants will be guided through a channeled sound meditation specifically designed to support the deep unfolding and release of emotions and memories. At the end, ample space will be held for processing any experiences that arose during the meditation and prayers will be offered for personal and collective healing.

Inner Journeys will be facilitated by Zaneta of @soundartmagic and channeled sounds will be provided by Chris Dingman @dingmanvibes. All gatherings are virtual and will be conducted through combination of Zoom and Youtube, as the audio quality is substantially more clear on youtube.
